I feel like the officer on duty

I feel like the officer on duty

I know that every child goes through phases and they fight for their independence and all but tantrums are so hard. My three year old has started throwing these screaming kicking fits just to get his way. I try to ignore the behavior but when I do it gets worse, he then starts screaming louder and kicks and hits things-he is going to hurt himself. I am doing the time out thing with him but I sometimes feel like maybe this is something that I did to make him act this way. I know in comparison to my husband I am a push over- i have in the past given in to his fit for what he wants. I have two little boys, I try to spend as much time “positive” time with each of them as I can but when Tyler acts this way it not only upsets his little brother and me but then I end up having two crying children. I know that consistent appropriate discipline is the answer but it makes for long hard days full of punishment and timeouts and I just want to be able to enjoy our time together.

It is Monday morning and I sit here wondering where the last month has gone???

Life has gone a little haywire over the past 4 weeks. Tyler was sick, then Sean got sick, the I was sick and then the cycle started all over again except this time Mason also got sick. This “sick” season has been quite a struggle for us. Of course it is the first year that we have had a child in school so that is always a cause for more illness. I just can not believe that it is March 9th already.

Sean and I start a book group this week. I am very excited to have something special to do with just him. He loves to read, and sing and dance so this little group will be great for him. He will be able to explore language all while having fun.

Tyler had a friends birthday party this past weekend. We went to “Imagine That” an interactive play museum. He had a blast. There was an after party where food and cake was severed and Mickey Mouse stopped by for a visit. Sean was there too but did not enjoy Mickey Mouse as much as Tyler.

Mason has been working massive amounts of hours these days, this makes it tough on him and I but we are holding on and hoping for easier days.

I hope to update more very soon. Life has been busy but I hope to get back to updating regularly.
